Jonathan is a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand and has over 25 years litigation and court experience, specialising in Relationship Property, Family, Employment, Criminal and Traffic law. As a senior lawyer he receives Ministry of Justice referrals to represent children.

Nickie Franklin graduated from the University of Waikato as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand. Nickie has over 5 years legal experience specialising in Criminal, Traffic and Family Law.
Nickie has also completed a Diploma in Business Studies through the Waikato Institute of Technology.

     Whitney Winiata

Whitney Winiata graduated from the University of Waikato with a Bachelor of Laws and a Second Major in Te Reo Maori. Whitney was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in July 2016.

Whitney is local to the Bay of Plenty being from Opotiki. She is an avid basketballer and has played at a provincial, national and international level, with her highest accolade being captain of the New Zealand Under 20 Womens’ Team.

Whitney specialises in Criminal, Family and Traffic law, providing personable and thorough legal assistance.


Heather Boon is a law clerk with over 25 years experience in the legal industry and is the Office Manager. Heather will greet you in a friendly and approachable manner on your arrival at Eastbay Law.
