Jonathan Kay

Jonathan Kay of Eastbay Law
Jonathan is a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand and has over 35 years litigation and court experience, specialising in Relationship Property, Family, Employment, Criminal and Traffic law. As a senior lawyer he receives Ministry of Justice referrals to represent children.

Jonathan applies pragmatism to provide his Bay of Plenty clients with effective solutions to their legal problems. This approach frequently results in alternative dispute resolution however there are occasions when there is no real alternative to court proceedings. In all situations he offers personalised service and years of experience. Jonathan will powerfully advocate for the interests of his clients at all times.

Heather Boon is a law clerk with over 35 years experience in the legal industry and is the Office Manager. Heather will greet you in a friendly and approachable manner on your arrival at Eastbay Law. Heather's experience in dealing with all manner of legal issues allows her to provide immediate and effective assistance to clients.

Whitney graduated from Te Piringa Faculty of Law at the University of Waikato in 2016 and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in the same year. Whitney has been a part of the team at Eastbay Law since 2016 and specialises in Family, Criminal and Traffic Law, providing personable and thorough legal assistance.

Whitney is local to the Bay of Plenty, being from Ōpōtiki. She has whakapapa connections to Te Whakatōhea, Te Ātihaunui-a-Pāpārangi and her two children are of Tūhoe descent. She enjoys spending time with her family including her two Husky dogs.
